How to get a good night’s sleep with leading beds

There are a number of things to get you on your way to the land of nod and they do all boil down to common sense but unfortunately the emergence of portable technology means we just can’t seem to leave work at work anymore and rooms in houses have merged, with televisions in bedrooms and sofa beds in living rooms it has become a crazy mixed up world.
The best way to get a good night’s sleep is to remember two things, one is that your bedroom is a bedroom and it’s for sleeping in and the other is that your body needs to be cool (around 36.5 degrees Celsius) to relax and switch off.
Here are some basic tips for improving your sleeping habits and experiences:
If you have a television in your bedroom, remove it; televisions are bright, often loud and not only stimulate the brain but also give out negative ions and barely audible sounds that can adversely affect sleeping patterns and stimulate brain activity, even on standby, without you realising.
The same logic applies to laptops, PCs and handheld devices such as Blackberries but the main problem with these is that they’re addictive and can cause huge levels of stress which build up, causing anxiety, raised body temperature, restlessness and insomnia. Bringing these sorts of devices into the bedroom means that you’re bringing communication and work into an environment that should be distraction and stress free and so they’re bound to interrupt normal sleeping patterns.
It’s unrealistic to advise people to leave mobile phones in another room or to switch them off so instead, put them onto silent or switch off the backlight so you’re less likely to be disturbed by calls and texts. Try to limit the number of calls and texts you make and write from the bedroom, it’s not a healthy habit to get into.
Some people find gentle and relaxing music helpful and soothing but the same principle applies to that as to television, it is a stimulant and may actually have the opposite to desired effect. If you do like listening to music, try and pick tunes that don’t involve any words or singing and keep the volume levels low.
Even in the winter, bedroom windows should be left slight ajar or the vents should be opened to allow fresh air to circulate around the room; keeping your bedroom door open also allows for a constant supply of fresh air which will allow you to sleep more comfortably and you will wake feeling refreshed rather than groggy.
Follow this advice and do some serious research into double beds and quality but still cheap mattresses before you commit and you’re sure to get a great quality night’s sleep every night.
